Garage sale buys (part 2) Dishes & Abba + Flowers

Alright here we are with the part 2 of my garage sale finds. Does the Santa I found really wear a Hula skirt and hold coconuts??? No he doesn't... but he does when on vacation. Below is what Santa looks like I purchased him from an Estate sale for $1.00 I will be sure to have him somewhere in my living room for Christmas. He is also my first Christmas blow mold. Hopefully there will be many more to come.

1965 Little Snoopy Pull string puppy
50 cents

Both dishes $1

Coffee / Tea

50 cents

So when I pulled this off the rack at the store. Abba *Dancing Queen* played through my head! hehah

Now I will admit this little number is comfy. But if it rides up at all (Well we will just leave it at that.) I do know one thing... I would not dance in it!

Plus it is rather see through *Yippee*

I secretly do love it.. But I know I will not wear it like it should be worn. So in the future I hope it ends up with a real dancing queen

Who's young and sweet and only 17.. Well age doesn't really matter I suppose she can be 65 for all I care.

Okay so I am sure your wondering about this rubber gloved look.

I will fill you in.... This afternoon I went to one of my favorite thrifts. I have a routine in this store of where I start up and where I end. So I am in my starting area. *The dresses* when I look above me and hear heavenly angels singing because I spot the sweetest Samsonite on a shelf above my head. Being a shortie I could not reach it. A quick dial to my man who is in the book section. ("Honey I need your help HURRAY!") Now I am sure he thought I must have been having a bathroom emergency or something because he arrived in milliseconds. I point up ("Please get that suitcase down, I need to look at it.")

Even though he didn't say a thing (I KNOW) He was thinking *"Oh Lord not another suitcase"* I look it over.. it is in great shape I tell him to take it with him and NOT PUT IT DOWN. (I have had things I was planning on purchasing taken right from my shopping basket in this store. So I do NOT take any chances. *lol* )

I imagine he knew I meant business cause he just straight away paid for it and put it in the vehicle. I suppose the luggage wasn't manly enough for him to carry around. *smile*

Quick explanation: Suitcase in awsome shape and pretty clean just needed a quick wipe down. Now on the other hand.. Inside was a overnight bag which looked to be used alot. IT WAS DINGY! So I scrubbed the living lobsters out of it!

*Before*

*During*

*After*

OoOoOohh Isn't it lovely?? I actually had to go back inside to clean the thing because Bee's were flying up the the flowers and uhmmm landing on them?!?! See on the right mid side of the pic?? THAT'S A STUPID BEE! And more came flocking to this case. All I have to say is WTF!

Here is my Funky new set. Now I am wondering where I can take them??
I know one place I am not going... To a honey making farm.

Garage sale buys Luggage & Vases & Pictures

Alarm goes off at 6:45 a.m. (Press snooze), alarm goes off again 5 min later... Spring outta bed. Make coffee * Put in contacts * Brush teeth * apply makeup. All is going smoothly until time comes to wake up my Mr.
I told him 3 times to wake up and he is just not getting outta bed. Finally Mr. gets out of bed.. and has a HORRIBLE HEADACHE. ("I swore in my head")
Mr. takes advil and lays on couch. I get a cold cloth and throw it at his face ("Okay I did not really I placed it gently on his forehead, like the loving wife I am.") The clock is ticking 30 min goes by... ("Oh dear the Mr. must have fallen asleep.") I then think ("Hmmm I suppose we will just stay home.") BUT just to be sure I ask him how he feels. He sits up and says: It's gone! ("Jeaz I never been this happy all week")
And off we go to buy other peoples treasures that they actually think is junk!! But little do they know I am dreaming of it late at night...

(On the subject of photo albums)

I haven't put a picture in one for years. And then a weeks back my Mom told me they were gonna see some extended family no one has seen in years and asked me for a recent pic of me and my guy. *uhhhh* Hrmm they are all on my computer.. and I was not about to hand that over. For months I have been saying I wanna start getting photos developed again and having some family albums for times when they could be useful. I love looking through our old family albums and I am sure others do too. So hopefully these albums I found will give me the kick in the pants I need to start going to the photo lab!

I have more to show but don't want to bog down your internet *wink* Will post the other stuff in the next day or so.

P.s. I found a lettuce green vintage nightie, I want to dance in a cabbage patch!

My self timer and I Frockin on Friday

~*Your too close to the camera Coconut*~

~*The camera is still taking photos Coconut*~

~*Your missing the top of your head Coconut*~

~*Oooh finally a semi decent photo*~

So look at the back of the dress.. (IT IS NOT EVEN FRICKING DONE UP!!) How in the flaming pepperoni did I not notice this while I was wondering around in my back yard.
I did not notice this until I came inside to load my pictures onto my computer. I did my hair, applied my makeup, put on the dress & went outside and took the pics. THANK GOD I did not go out to grab something at the store.. I would have been sooooo embarrassed. So I suppose I can be thankful I was trying to get this posted before continuing on with my day. Or I would have looked like a complete hair brained loony!

*Whispers* Sooo uhh shhh don't tell anyone I feel stupid enough *lol*

*Heh* Thanks

And thank you Nelly for your comment on my last post. The line ("You poor aging thing") Made me smile and gave me a laugh.

Vintage Sweetheart I stopped looking forward to B-days after I had my 25th. When I turned 25 I no longer wanted anymore Birthdays too come. *haha* But I do suppose if I was going to go somewhere super cool.. then I may be happy and excited for it. "I better tell my guy we need to flee to Hawaii"

Thank you all for the comments on my last post. I am glad I am done my garage sale and that everything went well. Now tomorrow I can go crash a buncha strangers sales! *YAAY*

The yard sale

What took me so long to post this? My laziness of course... it took me a few days to re cooperate after having my Saturday yard sale last weekend. I made all the signs on Friday and decided to add a little sparkle piz-zazz to get some extra attention. I have a personality that hates normalcy. I don't like boring, bland & simple. I like eye catching, dazzling & fun!! So I portrayed that through my signs. And no worries I did not sell a zebra.

And if I did have a zebra I would have never sold it, I would dye its white fur with green kool-aid and ride it around the neighborhood with a set of fairy wings on my back and a little green elf hat. (Woops there goes that damn imagination again.)

(Early Sat morning before setting up)

I decided to make a little *Welcome* sign for the front yard to greet the people saling.
The purple balloons were for extra excitement. *lol*

I forgot to take pics of the whole setup. Behind the clothing rack was two tables. One with kick knacks the other with electronics and dvds and stuff. This garage sale was not that big because last spring we had a ginormous multi family sale and I sold most of my unwanted items then. And since then I have been pretty much only purchasing vintage items which I do not want to rid myself of. heheh

The main thing I sold was clothing and surprisingly it did quite well. I sold at least half of my clothing on the rack at the prices of 2 & 3 dollars. At 12:00 one and a half hours before garage sale end I marked the clothing all down to 1.00 each in hopes to clear out a bit more before the end. That got some people quite excited and I really did sell more clothes than I expected too. *wooohooo*

This was one of my last customers vehicles. I asked if I could take a pic as I thought it was hilarious!! I don't think I would ever be able to garage sale on a Scooter like he was. The fact he purchased a air conditioner and a set of lights that were sitting where his feet go gave me a good laugh.

After the sale last year was done we packed everything into the vehicle and donated it to Salvation Army.

(Which is what I did at the end of this yard sale too.)

It was getting so hot on Sat I could not wait to pack things up at our 1:30 p.m. closing time. By then I already was sun burnt and intensely hot and uncomfortable. The temperature outside was 32 Celsius which is 89.6 ºF
Thank goodness I wore a checkered fedora on my head since the beginning of the day or I probably would have felt much worse. Once packed up I sprayed myself with a water bottle and sat in front of the living room fan. *hahaah*

(Not so spry and happy as the early morning photo)

After donating un sold items to Salvation Army. My family went out for a Chinese buffet!! (I mean really its the best way to celebrate the ending of a yard sale.) We had a delicious dinner and it was actually very nice because we haven't all been out together in quite a long time.

After dinner I came home and had a much needed 2 1/2 hour nap. I did not get much sleep the night before because my mind just would not turn off. I kept thinking of what I had to get done and where I would place this and put that. It was ridiculous!!!

The money I made was mostly to go towards the purchase of my (Not found yet) Vanity. *Bites lip* BUT... I have been naughty spent a bit finding some other things I liked in thrifts. (I am not too horrified that I spent some because you see its my B-day in exactly 1 month minus one day.) "I have been dreading this one" *hmmmpff* So I talked to my man and I am sure we will be able to work something out. *lol*

"After all... I will need a mirror to peek into to inspect for any new wrinkles"

*hehehe* *CRY*

No worries I am just being dramatic I am sure most of us have all felt this way about aging at one time or another.

I suppose I am not thrilled about it because I still feel like a teenager. (Even though I have not been one for 10 yrs...) Just Yesterday I ran away from my man in a department store and phoned him on his cell and told him I was hiding and I bet he could not find me. It was a fun game.. I would see him pass and say "Nope wrong way Babe" And run off briskly to another department. This went on for 10-15 min till I decided I better let him find me. *hahaha*

I suppose getting older doesn't mean we have to "Grow up" I will still be a teenager in my mind and that is what counts.

(I was 23 in this picture)

But I just don't want to go and dig for my teenage year pics atm.

It's almost the weekend

*Smile*

Not so Frocking.. this Friday

You know I thought I would have time to do a Frock Friday post but I have failed.

In 14 hours my garage sale will begin.. (Probably earlier because of them damn birds!! *hehe*) I have been pricing, hanging, making & a buncha other things all afternoon. Of course I am not selling my vintage stuff because *Pssshh* I could never do that. I am clearing out some of the "normal" stuff I have laying around you know.. stuff from Walmart and other department stores we have these days. I need to make room for MORE VINTAGE! *LOL*

I will try and remember to take some pics for you all.

Have a good weekend.
