It WASN'T a month, I still had a few hours left!

Hello Hello! I suppose it's been a short while since I last posted. But I made sure to get my butt here typing before I reached a month.
(The lucky cat piggy bank and kokeshi doll in the red dress were purchased from the flea market 2 weeks ago for $5. The kokeshi in the floral kimono was purchased from a thrift store last week for $1.50)
I suppose my little absence will be blamed on some part time work that is newly acquired plus the fact I am trying to incorporate daily exercise in my everyday life. In recent months I fabulously (not) gained extra pounds that are not wanted!!! And I am trying to rid them off my body! Trying to get into a workout routine is never the easiest,  but I am doing better with it now than I was weeks ago.
Also Weekends prior to this last one were HORRID for sales!! I had two Sats in a row where it just poured rain. Sales were cancelled or just not there at all!!!

"OOGA BOOGA MOOGA" I found these three tiki dudes at the flea market on Sunday. The seller had the bottoms marked $2 a piece but told me she would take $5 for them "without me even asking?" So I said "How bout $4?" She told me she would do it but then showed me a Tiki bottle cap remover ... So I said alright throw that in and I will pay you $5. She agreed and I was thrilled (Also saved myself $3) *heh*

Two Christmases ago my Mr. wanted to buy me a IPhone (I politely declined) and chose a WAY cheaper pink flip phone. I am not a big cell phone person
(I use them when I need to make a call or a short to the point text) ... but I do not like to be on them constantly. And get annoyed by people who are.)

Example:
Walking down the sidewalk not looking where they are going because they are <> Staring at a phone.
Eating dinner with someone but not talking to them because they are  <> Staring at a phone.
Almost getting hit in a parking lot because they are not paying attention cause they are <> Staring at a phone.

This is seriously one of my pet peeves. I swear half the world is missing out on (actual life) .... because their face is plastered to their phone screen.
I just want to make sure I am never one of those people who would not know what to do with themselves if they didn't have their phone.

(If you are one of those people ... Since I don't know you IRL)
Don't take offesnse to my rant! *lol*
The time came where my previous cell just wasn't cutting it for what I want.
I wanted to be able to look up things I come across in thrifts and at garage sales to find out more info on them. I get Mr. to do it from his phone when he's with me but the times he's not I am wishing he was. *lol*
So finally I gave in to the hullabaloo!! But first before even getting my phone I looked through countless phone cases *hehe*
I ordered 2 before I even went and got the darn phone.
Here is my first case

Rilakkuma a Japanese character! My second case which has yet to arrive is Hello Kitty, I am getting antsy waiting but I am sure it will show up soon. I was very ho-hum about getting a IPhone but  now that I have had it for a couple weeks,  I have taken a liking to it. It really makes looking up stuff when I am out super easy. Also there is tons of things to do on it if boredom ensues. I am just making sure to "limit the amount I am on it whilst out in public, I don't want to turn into a IPhone addict."

I was planning on writing this post on Sunday but then didn't get around to it. I was reading blog posts though and one of them gave me Deja vu!
Lucy Nation
She also just got a IPhone very recently AND  ....... *cues eeeerie music* Loves Hello Kitty!!!!
Go check out her awesome blog if your looking for more Happiness to read.

I ordered nail stuff from E-bay
And did my nails Keroppi & Hello kitty!
(IPhone pic)
This was my FAVORITE find garage saling on Saturday!! $3 for a Hello Kitty Build-a-bear.
She was naked when found and missing her bow "So I lent her a flower" But no worries I plan on ordering her some clothes soon!

(STORY TIME)

The people holding the garage sale where I got Hello Kitty from were a Senior citizen couple.
The man had to be in his late 70s early 80s and I would imagine the woman to be in her early 70s.
I have been to sales by them in previous years and I usually always find something.
Mr. Coco and I start walking up the driveway. The man hosting the sale is just staring at me with this weird gaze and a big smile. (I was sort of worried I had cream cheese from my bagel on my face or something.) He then gets up right next to me and says loudly "GRAB YOUR PURSE AND BAG, FORGET ABOUT THIS GUY!! *looking over at Mr. Coco*" Apparently he thought him and I should run off together. *bahaha* I was slightly caught off guard and couldn't stop laughing!
(His wife then tells him his toast & jam is on the table and that he should go eat breakfast, so he goes inside the house)
*Minutes later*
A middle aged "hippie" looking man comes up the driveway and asks if she has any watches to sell.
She tells him no politely and then he explains he likes to buy old watches and fix them up. He then asks her is she has any old toys and rambles off a list of the types he looks for. The woman's reply was "Sorry: I'm the only old toy we got around here" (Said in a flirty manner as her Husband eats his toast while peering through his kitchen window.)
*hahaha*

This evening I am going to relax with my feet in Jersey's doggie pool. (FINALLY getting hot weather here.) I cleaned it and filled it yesterday so it will be warm enough to give him a bath this evening.
(It's so much easier bathing a dog outside.)
He doesn't really like baths so I have been spoiling him a little here and a little there .
For some reason he's CRAZY about watermelon. He snaps at it like a little shark!!
So I gave him more than I normally would but then realized.... if he had any more... I might regret that decision when it comes time to clean up the chocolates he leaves in the backyard.

See the collar I made him!!
Oddly enough I think he likes wearing a rind around his neck!

  1. Hey, you're back! Thought you were too busy working on that FBC to blog, haha! You have been much missed.
What part-time job have you found? Hope you are enjoying it. And exercise? Oh man, don't make me feel guilty, I am a right lard arse and don't do a thing... Probably should do something about that!
Anyway, it's a relief to know you didn't run off with the old guy, that you've been buying some cute stuff (tiki guys, aaahhh!) and that you are enjoying your iPhone. Guess what? I am commenting on your blog from my new iPad! A late birthday present, never had anything as swish as this before! But we aren't going to get addicted to our gadgets, now are we, Mrs Coco? Enjoy your foot soak in Jersey's pool, crazy watermelon-loving dog that he is! Welcome back! xxxx

You a lard arse?? PFFFT I think not Mrs. gorgeous Gams!
*Oh you got a IPad! That's AWESOME!!!*
"NO WE WILL NOT GET ADDICTED..." If I find it to be a problem I will throw it in a storm drain.

  3. Nice to have you back! I resisted getting an iPhone forever too, but my SIL finally talked me into trying one. I have to admit that I love it.

Your latest finds are adorable. I especially love the Lucky Cat. I eye those with envy every time I get take-out sushi.

  4. Oh sweet lovely to read your post. Time just disappears. Well done on the exercise, I am the same, some pesky kg's have decided to latch on. Grrrr. Walking walking, I hope they fall off soon.
    Must stop eating cookies.
I too was not sure about a iPhone. Now I wouldn't be with out it. So many functions. Kitty cover will be cute.
    Love v

  5. I missed your posts so it's lovely to see you back xxx
I don't ordinarily like tiki things but yours are rather fab!
I don't like phones myself, I have a little Sony Ericcson that makes calls and that I can text on, but as I don't know many people, I rarely get called, so whenever it rings, it surprises me, hehe! I get really embarrassed when it rings in public. I do have internet on there but simply can't be bothered to give it a go.
I loved Hello Kitty when I was wee, in fact I had some fabulous bits and bobs that people now would happily kill for, but alas it has all vanished.

  6. Goddamnit!! I want a Rilakkuma phone cover! They don't do the rubber ones for my phone - have a sony android thingy. You may get addicted. My dream app is being able to scan junk at charity shops and jumble sales and know how old they are. I love your garage sale tales - my dad had a similar experience recently to your fur coat debacle - a woman was looking at a camping stove then wandered off, so my dad snapped it up, she had a go at him but he was like " if you walk away it's fair game".

I want a tiki vase!! I love them xxx

  7. Ahh, we have twin posts! Good to have you back dear. I'm glad I'm not the only Hello Kitty lover old enough to know better! I LOVE your Tiki vases, what a bargain and the Japanese dollies are so cute. I'm afraid I wouldn't go back to a 'normal' phone now. I love the old iVariety! Browsing the net is sooo quick and easy and all those apps!! But, no we will not get addicted! ;) xxx

  8. Gosh, it has been a long while. Glad you're back.

My phone cost £5 from Amazon, it doesn't even have a camera and the back is held on precariously by one hinge.

Mmmmm, exercise. Not my favourite thing to do, although maybe I should get off my lazy arse and do something as the other day, travelling to work, I could see a woman looking at my new (to me) charity shop skirt. Or so I thought. In fact, she must have been looking at my stomach as seconds later she offered me her seat. I was wearing my control knickers as well....MMmmmm.... still reeling from the shock...

Anyway, love those Tiki vases, they are utterly brilliant. Also loving your back yard, those chairs and the swan planters are fabulous. xx

  9. Welcome back! I'm in Lou's gang, my phone is so old it doesn't even have a camera, I got it from a supermarket about 10 years ago. Most of the time I'll walk around with it switched off 'cos I hate the thought of people being able to get hold of me (a throwback to having a serious job when I was on call 24-7!
Love your back yard and those fabulous chairs! I'd happily sit there all afternoon! x

  13. Well hello there stranger! I forgive you for being away as you're back to entertain us with your finds. The tiki stuff is great, and the little kokeshi dolls being attacked by the black panther of doom!

I really want am iphone but I think I will have to settle for something cheaper. But smart anyway. I honestly am not one of 'those' people about my phone, but if I'm sat down at home I usually have a laptop on me!

  14. It's so lovely to have you back lovely Moconut!! Oh course that ole geezer would want you to leave Mr Moconut behind - what red-blooded male wouldn't? The Phoenix got my iPhone going a few weeks ago after it spent two years languishing in its box - eeek! I just didn't want to be "available" to all and sundry, just like Vix. But now I have one, I love being able to do handy things like pay bills online, get directions etc wherever I am. Good luck with the exercise program, mine currently consists of dancing like a loony in our kitchen:) xx

  15. Thanks for stopping by! :)
I LOVE your phone cover!!! I would buy a phone just to put in that cover ;D And YES, people that look at their phones all the time are SO annoying! I once set next to a couple in a restaurant that didn't talk to eachother. AT ALL! For the whole time they were there! They just looked at their phones. Does make me wonder what they were looking at... I just can't imagine doing that myself.
    Oh well...
Love the ooga booga mooga tiki dudes too :D

I have missed you.I think I hhave gone almost as long as you without posting.lol.I hate those cell phone people too.Especially when I am ringing up some ones purchase at work they are to busy talking on the phone to hear what the total is and discount info.Or walking through the whole store gossiping about thier love life or health problems in full detail.I used to be one of those idiots who constantly on the thing texting.haven't had one in 2 years and don't really miss it.But sometime soon have to get one.Just gonna make sure I don't fall into bad habits.Just love those wooden dolly things and the cat.and those tiki glasses are cool. Can't help love hello kitty.Hope your having a niced weekend.xx

  22. Wow--you were gone almost a month and look at how many people missed you. I was gone that long (I think maybe longer) and hardly anyone missed me. Boo hoo. Oh, and I'm glad you clarified the senior citizen comment by saying they were in their 70's--had you said early 60's I would've thought, "Oh, Coco's crazy--I'M not nearly a senior!" But I guess I am because I always get the senior coffee and McDonald's. Hey, you save a few cents being an old fartess!
You are hilarious, by the way!
