Happ BEE Summer

Well hello everyone and Happy Summer ...... for those who are experiencing summer... for those who aren't Happy Winter.....??? (I think that shall do)
You might have noticed I have been missing for a couple of months. I blame that again on the cleaning I have been doing. The "One Retail location I was cleaning never did switch back to summer hrs" But good news is that contract ended in the first week of June. I finally have my Saturday mornings free again
(Something that hadn't happened in OVER A YEAR)
Although I haven't yet got back into my garage sale groove. I took the past 3 Sat's to sleep in and do gardening and such. I do hope to go garage saling this weekend though.
Jersey loves to smell flowers
I purchased this cute orange gnome from Target to guard my orange begonias

I purchased two mini roses this top one is named Holy Toledo and blooms into a bright fire orange.
This second one is called Hope & Glory
These belong to my Mom, I love them because of the green edging!

My Hope & Glory in front of the gazebo

I purchased these solar lights from WAL*MART. If you like solar lights I totally think you should buy these because they look absolutely gorgeous at night.

Okay so I have been seeing ALOT of google friend connect ending talk. And I do not want to disappear into blog nothing-ness and only be a distant memory of my bloggy friends. So I am working on setting up my
Bloglovin account.

Thank you to all my followers I reached 200 followers on google friend connect in the past couple weeks YAY!

I have put a Blog lovin Icon in my side bar. Hopefully if you press it, it will take you to where it is supposed too. *LOL*

Wishes for Fishes

Frocking with fishes is better than washing dishes
You all know of my Crustacean obsession .... Well lately it seems that the ocean life is over taking my mind.  Because in the past few months I have been crushing on fishes too. Of course it makes sense, they both go hand in hand right? I mean they have just got to be friends.
FISH & Crustaceans!

[Side note: Yesterday I read in a magazine that it is good to only have 1 or 2 collections or else things could get tacky]
TOO FREAKING LATE!!!
I have so many collections I can't even count them right now.
Crustaceans, Hello Kitty, Boxer dog figurines, vintage dishware, Melmac, Bedding, Coats and that's all I can think of right this minute....
So I suppose I am tacky.
"Shhh let's just keep this on the down low... I mean look at these pictures"
*Laugh*

Lately I have been cleaning like no other. And really haven't took much "Happy time"
for me. I have been wanting to dress up and do this post for the past week or so and kept putting it off. Even today I almost didn't jump into this FISH MUUMUU I found. But the sun came out and I thought HECK let's do this. I did my makeup, I did my hair, I jumped into this crazy fun muumuu and then I felt it... The little bit of SPARKLE fun I have been missing. The Muumuu was a $1 purchase from Salvation army. I was THRILLED when I came across it.
(See the Orange chair? Found last week for $10 "It even came with a green velvet indoor cover which I will show you in the future" I had to have it because I have a thing for these chairs and this will be my 5th. First orange one though!!!)

I found these garage saling in May 2011 for $2 each I was STOAKED!
Later I came across one lonely yellow one in a thrift.
So far I have 2 yellows 1 orange 1 green and 1 brown.
I need to find 2 more. *lol*

This is my imaginary train station. Me and fish are waiting for our train....
I carry him in a pink basket cause he's magic and lives out of water.

It was sunny out but still a little chilly. My toes got cold waiting at the station.

"What's that fish? Your happy we are going on vacation?"

Me tooooo! Even if it's only for 15 minutes and in my head.

Everything worn was either thrifted, handmade or purchased second hand online.
Muumuu: Salvation army
Hair flowers: Made by me
Nemo Disney plush: Salvation army
Pink plastic bag: Garage saled
Shoes: Thrifted
Earrings: Thrifted
Koi fish pendant: Etsy
Bangles: Thrifted
Chair: Thrifted
Purple rose Sassy Vamps headband contest win from  The Amazing Des circus hottie

My newest pendant! A rainbow koi fish.

I found these plates for 50 cents each. I have another 2 of each kind not pictured.
I ate french fries off of them the other day. Best "fish" and chips I have had in awhile.

"Flowers in her hair, Flowers everywhere"

What's your thoughts on Fishes?
And do you have lots of collections too.
"PLEASE SAY YES" I don't wanna be the only tacky person.

Puff Bottom Sleeves "You make the rockin' world go round"

It's Frock Friday and here is what I wore to go out for Mexican food & a short walk in the park!
I found this dress for about $1, It was in my (to sell pile). But I decided to give it a whirl for today's post and it turns out I really like it and am not selling it to NOBODY! *lol*
It's a no wrinkle polyester fabric and has the cutest little flowers on it that kind of look like cloves... maybe they are cloves?! I have no idea.

There's really nothing going on down there... I was just pretending as people were pulling up to the dock in a boat and I felt awkward... *hahah*
Okay so I love these sleeves. They were sewn on separately from the other fabric.
And they have a good amount of puff to them!! If the puff was on the shoulders I wouldn't like it.... but puffs at my elbows are delightful!!
I hated my Fringe/Bangs today they are too long in my opinion. Whenever I get to this point I think "Do I still want fringe or should I grow them out?" This is the 4th time I have asked myself this in the past couple months. So I asked Mr. and he told me he doesn't care.... I rolled my eyes... He flipped a coin (Which I didn't see) So he says: "If you ask me you should cut them" I say... "Oh okay so you want them short again" He says: "I dunno that's what the coin said"
*UHHHHH MEN!!!!*
They will probably be hacked off again the next picture you see of me. I wouldn't mind having short bangs in the winter they will look cute poking out of all my Canadian toques EH!!!
 "Can't freaking See!"
*Lemon face*
I spotted another one of Vanessa's spy's!! This one was cheeky and eating the berries on the tree.

No!! This is not a advertisement for Palmolive

But Palmolive does have a small little debut in this Ta-Dah Tuesday post. On Saturday I went garage saling. Only 6 sales to go to because it was the last weekend in August. I did not find one thing (This is starting to become a trend, I suppose the season has come to a end. I will try one last time this Weekend.) I usually end our Saturday routine with a couple thrift shops.
Next stop Salvation Army, Which is where I found a half bottle of Palmolive for 0.29 cents and now I can have soft hands and be the Envy of the women in my neighborhood.
Okay I am kidding I already had the Palmolive. What I found was these Johnson Bros dishes!!!
Aren't they GROOVY? Plates with flowers on them!! Who doesn't love to eat off of a flower plate?
The thing is .... it wasn't just a couple of dishes...
It was more like a Dish set
I don't remember the last time I hand washed so many dishes. *Thank you Palmolive*
I filled the drain rack 4 times
The set was on the bottom shelf. It has 56 pieces. I only found a handful of flaws.
I had to have it as soon as I seen it. But I was worried what the Mr. would say... Had he said no I would not have listened... NOPE not this time. Thank God he knew I meant serious business!
The set was labeled $7.50
The lovely Lady working the till decided she only wanted to charge us $5
*What a Gem she is*
I am over the moon..... especially when I seen a replacement salad plate priced at $9
#$*@
After a couple hours of research I found out there is a butter dish and that I hope I eventually find. The creamer is another item I will search for as the jug I do have is the gravy boat. I imagine someone was clumsy and knocked the creamer off the counter.

This set should last me a good long time. Sadly WAY in the future my future children probably won't come across their childhood dishes in a thrift store and say
"These were the dishes I had when I was little, as often as I do."

My childhood dishware
We had 1 set of each.
And my Grandma had these!
Found Here

Whenever I see any of these dishes at a Flea Market, Garage sale or Thrift shop.... I instantly reminisce on my childhood. I remember eating my cereal at the kitchen table in a swivel vinyl kitchen chair or standing on my tippy toes at Grandmas trying to get a mug so I could have some of my Grandpa's Ginger ale he always kept in the fridge.

You would probably never think dishes could impact someones life... But if you REALLY think about it. They are something you use daily.... They are used for MANY of lifes occasions and celebrations. They show up in family pictures and obviously are remembered in some peoples minds...
So for goodness sakes MAKE SURE you love your dishware!!

And thanks for reading about my Ta-dah.

Royal Mail arrives in Canada

NO! Not from Queen Elizabeth... from Curtise my faux fur loving friend in the UK. http://sopastcaring.blogspot.com/

The package was waiting for my when I woke up Yesterday morning.

As soon as I seen it I did a quick little package dance and opened it up.

Inside was: Carousel Jug, a sweet little doll, birdy card, Canada tea towel (Now how did that make it all the way to the UK? lol), cute ocean theme postcard
and last but not least a adorable vintage dress.
*Yeeeeeaaii*

Dress top is white lacy fabric, separated by a pink ribbon waist, leading to a lot of cute-sy flowers.

Dolly: When she got here she was quite shy. I don't really know what she thought about Canada. But once I told her she could have a dog her shyness disappeared.

I named her Kinsey which means 'Royal victory'

Totally fitting isn't it?? *hehe* Her Boxers name is Muck and they played outside all day today in the melting snow.

This reminds me of when I was a kid. My parent's used to take us to the States and I would ride on the outdoor carousel in Seattle. Come to think of it I would ask to ride on every darn carousel I seen.

Picture on the postcard

Which will now have a place on my side bar.

And the tea towel that tried to immigrate from Canada to the UK but couldn't get a Visa. Better luck next time little towel.

Thank you so much Curtise for your sweet and thoughtful package. It came at a perfect time. I haven't been in a thrift shop since Friday and I SWEAR I am going batty. And then like a dream come true...without entering a shop some vintage goodies arrive at my doorstep. What could be better than that??

Not much!

Lastly I am sure you see that Vintage Coconut has a new Crustacean-ious look.

That is because on February 14th (VALENTINES DAY)

It is my 2 year Blogiversary. I really hadn't updated my blogs look since I started it up. So I thought a little change might freshen things up

(You know... like misty Ocean air.)

In 2010 I only did 28 posts.

In 2011 I did 87

I am hoping in 2012 I will be able to get to at least 100 posts.

All I can say is if you suffer from Ostraconophobia... you might want to steer clear of this blog.
