Nothing in particular

This is my Mom's friends Genie's Coconut Monkey she got while in Mexico on holidays.
Isn't she pretty?! She has shells for ears. *lol*
Look at these boots I spotted in our Salvation Army *hehe* They were 1 size too small for my feet but I tried anyhow.... and NOPE no luck. I thought they were so cool though.
Rice pudding in  our little department store Diner. I went there for dinner after a full day of thrift shopping. The diner woun't be around for much longer as they are going to be renovating the store which is a Zellers now into a Target. I am happy we will be getting a Target store but really wish they could keep the Diner.
I got the cat eye glasses I ordered from Etsy. Now I just have to call around and find the best price for getting my prescription put in them. They are my first vintage glasses.  I wanted to find a pair on a good deal to see how much I like cat eyes. If I end up REALLY liking them then I will splurge on a more flashy pair (You know with rhinestones and flair) in the future. I am always admiring those glamerous ones.. but I didn't want to spend a starting price of $80 for something if I wasn't sure I would LOVE THEM and wear them often.

In the past few months I have not been too thrilled with weight I have gained over uhmmm Fall & Winter lets say (Really it's been a little longer but really I just don't want to talk about it). *haha* So I decided I will try and get in the habit of exercising more. Yesterday I tried Zumba for beginners which pretty much just teaches you the dance moves to the dances you will be doing. *OHMG* I felt like this octopus below.
I seriously felt like I had 4 arms and 4 legs I was so confused and un coordinated it was quite funny.
But that doesn't mean it wasn't fun. I really hope I get better at it. The Pros are you get to dance to Latin music and learn SWEET dance moves & burn calories at the same time. Cons (Right now I keep the curtains closed.) Nothing I am doing looks like what the people on the video are doing. I swear if I recorded myself I would look like a demented drunk jellyfish!

I plan to switch things up and do other kinds of exercises also. (To hopefully keep me from getting bored and quitting.) Once you get in the habit of exercising it is VERY EASY to keep doing it. It's just getting back in to it that's hard. And that's where I am at ... Trying to get into some sort of fitness routine. WHY?? Because my fave pairs of jeans aren't really fitting all that great atm. My weakness... Chips (Jalapeno, Mesquite, Ketchup, Malt Vinegar or Dill pickle) It really doesn't matter... but that is my guilty pleasure.

This made me smile

  1. Mmm rice pudding! Yumness!
Much rather have a diner than a Target store, me.

I hope the exercise thing goes well. Love your attitude - go girl! I shall have to be inspired in the same way after this baby is born, at some stage!

    1. I suppose I am excited about Target because I have only been to one 2 or 3 times when I visited the States. And everyone is always raving about the deals they got at Target. *haahha*
I imagine just looking after a baby is tons of excercise in itself.

I am always scared of buying vintage glasses and them breaking when then new glass goes in...let me know how you go and I might give up my fear!

  3. I love your new specs Ms VC.
I am crazy about rice pudding, I could eat it all day. And on Zumba. Well. I bet I'd look way more like an octopus than you. I am terribly unco. So bad. It's not a pretty picture when I dance.

    1. That was the first time I had rice pudding in about 20 years. *hahaha* My choice was Jello or Rice pudding and I can make Jello anytime. =D

  4. Hurrah for fitness routines! I'm eating healthy yoghurt/grape/nut/seed mix I made. But I already ate some crisps and will be stuffing a prawn mayo baguette soon. I thought about Zumba but I'm badly co-ordinated and once when I saw a demonstration at a church fete they were doing this stupid sailor-looking-out-to-sea move and that put me off. You know what would be the BEST workout? 60s go-go dancing! Someone needs to make a DVD!

    1. The mix you made sounds delicious. (My heart melted when you said prawn) *bahahaha*
In my begginers vid there is NO sailor looking out to sea move... at least NOT YET. Thats the reason I want to do this in the privacy of my own home. I can look like a idiot and there is no one to laugh at me. Well except myself & my dog... *God only knows what hes thinking when I am flailing around doing a "CANDLE DANCE"

I googled Go Go daancing workout videos.
There is one called "Crunch cardio Go Go dancing" HMMMMM I might look into it more and maybe order it.
I looked it up on Ebay and you can get one for under $10 *weeee*
Smart thinking on the Go Go dancing Miss Simmonds.

    1. I have a couple vintage pairs for fun... But none with my RX put in them. Have you had any trouble getting them to put in lenses for you?
I know lots of people woun't work with vintage frames so I hope I don't have any issues.

    1. Those boots would have been so fun to tromp around in. Mr. Coco was happy he hated them. *lol*
I think he breathed a sigh of relief when I said... "Oh they are a bit tight"

    1. I will try and call around to the different Optical places this week and see what they will charge. Some people have no problems getting lenses put in their frames... others do.
I am suprised I didn't trip during my first trial of Zumba! *lol*

    1. Cakes are delicious... I just don't make them near enough & for some reason we never buy them. I do want to make a Red Velvet cake sometime soon as I have never made one of those.
Losing inches can't be a bad thing!! *Congrats that's awesome* Hopefully I can do the same thing in the near future. I don't want to have to do a dance to get into my jeans and then when I button them up feel sorta uncomfortable... then do another dance to pull them off. hahaha

  11. The glasses look amazing on you, you should definitely keep an eye out (ha!) for a more blingy pair. Do you follow Forest City Fashionista's blog? Shelley has just got a great pair of frames, exactly what you have in mind, I think.
    Coconut? Bizarre!
Rice pudding? Food of the Devil!
Boots? Would have been fab, sigh...
Zumba? Never done it, fear I would be very BAD. Co-ordination is good but my fitness level is not.
Coconut bra? I think you shoud give one a go! xxxxxxxxx

  13. Love the cats eyes once you get comfortable in them you will not go back. Keep in mind that there is not just one shape of catseyes some are more pointy than others yours look kind of pointy be careful not to poke your husband in the eye (I speak from experience on this).

I too have been working on getting more exercise into my life to lose some weight I have been trying to stick with more walks but zumba sounds fun I like to dance.
