Nothing better than a bike ride at sunset and a buddy to keep you company. *Haha*
See in my basket? That is a 1960's pooh bear. I took him for a ride on my bike the day I found him at a thrift store for 50 cents. He has a wind up on his back and when wound plays music. What does he play?? Why the Winnie the Pooh theme song of course!!
I did have a couple of weird looks riding with this bear. But I bet it's the best time he's had in about 40 or so years!
Found this jug in a box of VERY dirty dingy grimy things. But I knew it was old... I was almost scared to touch it! *lol* But I grabbed the handle and when I did the seller said "I am sorry those are a bit dirty, you can have the jug for 50 cents" A big SOLD sign went off in my head. Some soap and hot water later the jug is next to new!
Bunt cake pan. I really needed a new one my current is on it's last legs.
$1.50
Aeropostale perfume $1
*Haha* Here's cute little pooh saying Hello to Vintage Vixen!!
She's scared of sweet little softies. *hehe*
Post it note purse 50 cents
MOD purse $2.00 from the Salvation Army
Okay so what's with my blog title??? Well I seem to like creating families of things. If I have one at home and see another similar... I think I will purchase the one I found because the one at home needs a friend. "IT'S VERY SILLY"
I suppose it's collections... but how many collections does one human need?
I can't pass these up, I am intrigued by them.

My Lucky Cat family
These two were found on a garage sale table, I knew instantly they needed to come home with me... as I had a lonely owl sitting on the back of my toilet. He needed friends....
*Ahhhh Happiness* They were 25 cents each. There's the turtle I told you about in last post.
And now you know what the back of my Loo looks like!
Instant family (All purchased from the same garage sale) These guys are destined for Etsy.
I just cannot have a family of salt and peppy's in my home. That would be going to far!!!
*Laugh*

I love that blue jug and so cheap too, who care's if it was a bit grubby! It looks perfect now. I think you're very sweet for making sure all your stuff has a buddy or two (or three!)
ReplyDeletex
I was crazy happy over getting the blue jug for that price. I don't think I will come across another one of them for a long while.
DeleteI'm glad you gave Winny a new home & a thrill ride! When I spotted that blue jug I was worried you may find inside what you found at a thrift shop one day....I'm so glad it was simply grubby. Love the owls & the fact they live on your toilet. You had better watch that small hands don't send them for a swim & try to flush the evidence like I did with a toilet doll when I was little. I love the salt & pepper family. So kitsch & cute! Xx
ReplyDelete"Ohhh noo you flushed a toilet doll!" *LOL*
DeleteThe salt and pepper family are cute... but that's the problem, if I give them a home I will become over run with cute little people who love to be shaken up!
aahhhh i would love to have Pooh bear he is gorgeous i bet he was so excited to be having a ride i would love to hear the music. When my Jake was a baby i hand drawed and painted a Pooh bear floating on a balloon onto his bedroom wall along with Noddy and Big ears and a whole scene from the Magic roundabout ;-)) Wow thats taken me back ;-)) Great buys and i really like the salt and pepper post there cute, dee x
ReplyDeleteJake's old bedroom wall's sound lovely. I would love to be able to do something like that in future coconuts room. I think I would paint a underwater theme wall!
DeleteHaha, everyone-thing needs a family/friends right! Cute things you bought... LOVE Pooh!
ReplyDeleteYES THEY DO!! I usually try to stick with thing's with faces though. Thank Goodness!!!
DeleteOh I do this ALL the time! There, do you feel better now, knowing you aren't alone in your desire for little object families? If one is cute, then 3 or 4 is better, right?
ReplyDeleteI can't resist owls either, but as VBG says, the back of the toilet would not be a safe place for a collection to sit, not with my clumsy kids. And partner. Oh and I am a bit clumsy too...
Love that little mod bag, and the blue jug. I think there is real satisfaction in spotting something grimey, and cleaning it up a treat. It's a great shape. When you find a friend for it, you can do a "look at my jugs" post. Heeehee, I'm so bloody hilarious!
My Pooh bear is waving back at yours and nagging me to go for a bike ride. xxxxxxxx
I do feel better now! I don't feel like such a oddity knowing you do the same thing as I.
Delete(ROFL) @ The look at my jugs post!
I think all pooh's love bike riding, you better take him... and your too embarrassed... get littlest to take him for a ride. =p
What great finds, and the back of your toilet is so pretty, it would definitely get wrecked and flushed in my house though, all my ornaments are slowly getting destroyed by kids and pets. Love your lucky cat family. xx
ReplyDeleteI suppose I better find some good china cabinets in the future to house all my breakables. I don't want my lucky cats to suffer at the hands of destructive children. lol
DeleteI love the idea of you cycling around with Winnie the Pooh playing a tune:)). I'm not a big fan of softies either, except for old and moth-eaten ones - Pooh is gorgeous!! Adore the Shaker Family, happy cat collection and your cistern!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBicycling with a little music makes the ride so much more relaxing. *heheh* Maybe next time I will bring a musical jewelry box!
DeleteI have a list of things NOT to buy - salty and peppy are on that list. Not because I don't love them but because I love them too much. Maybe Helen should write a book - women who love junk too much. My house would be overrun with them. Love your
ReplyDelete'family' photos and finds.
I would love to see your list of what not to buy!! I bet I have a few of your items on your list. *LOL* Maybe I NEED A LIST!!!
DeleteYou remind me of a couple of years ago when my Mum was clearing out and found the little wicker bicycle basket I used to have on my bike when I was little, I used it to take my bear Ted out with me when I cycled! She brought it round and I put it straight on my current bicycle and put Himself's monkey Harry in it and took him out for a cycle :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue jug and the black cat with both his arms in the air. He looks like he's just been told to stick em up!
*HEHEHE* I am glad you took your bears out too. I figure your never too old to revert back to childhood... even for an hour or so!
DeleteWhen I was little and if I accidentally dropped a bit of food when out and about, I would purposely drop another bit so the first wouldn't be lonely *rolls eyes* so I know where you're coming from!
ReplyDeleteOMG Melanie!!! This totally made me laugh. Now I usually stick with items that have faces.. But food is very funny. I bet your one bit of ham sandwich was thrilled when you left him a friend. *hehehe*
DeleteNooooo! Stop scaring me with that evil eyed bear. I'll have nightmares now! I rather like that salt and pepper family but I know what you mean, I dread to think how many cruets are in my cupboard, not to mention the set I bought for Jon for his birthday, shagging tortoises!
ReplyDeleteThe owls are rather sweet and that blue jug is lovely! xxx
Such great finds. I have an old Gonzo somewhere that I found on the side of the street. Yeah everyone thought I was weird for picking him up and taking him home.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE lucky cats. So much so that I have one tattooed on my right leg. We've got a couple of big lucky cat cat banks in our living room.
I love lucky cats!! Just found your site- sweet! I plan to visit often!

Hello pooh! Bet he's so happy to go on a ride on the bike with you.
ReplyDeleteI need me a bunt cake too, will go looking this weekend!
OCD alert! I love your groupings. The Maneki-Nekos are lovely - have you seen photos of that temple in Tokyo dedicated to them? Pooh neeeded rescuing and that jug is so bizarre you had to have it for 50c! xxxx
ReplyDeleteOh I love your blog and your cute, little photo edits! Following your blog now. And I love the Lucky cats, I've got a real thing for Chinese and Japanese things. xxx
ReplyDeleteI collect collections too and I don't like things to be lonely either.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I love that blue jug - I thought it was FiestaWare at first glance. Winnie the Pooh is fab too!
The top of your loo looks lovely, we've just got a big rubber duck on ours, clearly we need to up our game!

I've never been interested in those lucky cats before but I REALLY like yours! And I had those EXACT salt and pepper shakers - do yours make a terrible noise when you turn them?? Love your lovely little owls - Stace will adore them! My fave treasure is the gorgeous jug! Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteDarling it's not how many collections you *need*, but how many you *want*. 'kay? Because there are just too many potential answers to the word 'need'!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally love your lucky cat family!!! I have quite a few myself :) I even have a backpiece of a lucky cat with lotus flowers! I totally love your blog, looking forward to reading more! Thanks for sharing! xoxox
