 The past week and a half has been a busy one. I have had my Grandma, Aunt & Uncle and two cousins down for 8 days. (They live in another province of Canada and I usually only get to see them every couple of years.) They arrived on Monday the 23 of July and just left on Tuesday afternoon.

I had no time to blog while they were down really. We did lots of shopping celebrated my Aunt and Uncles 27th wedding Anniversary and we even ALL went Garage saling on Saturday. We had a 3 car line that also included my parents. *hahah* When we all pulled up the people had a real busy garage sales..... when we were done we all walked back down the driveway at the same time. *HAH* it looked quite funny.

 This is what I wore to my Uncle and Aunties Anniversary dinner. It's a bright yellow 80's sundress. It has black buttons that go all the way down the one side.

I am going to count this as a Frock on Friday dress as I am totally behind on my frocking up!!!

I made the the orange flower clip that's in my hair. I love it!! It sort of has a pom pom look to it.

This was my dinner a Cajun chicken taco salad. (One of the lowest calorie items on the menu.)

Thank God it's one of my favorites!!!

 I was so proud of my Arnold Schwarzenegger Commando action figure that I purchased for $3 at a garage sale. I JUST had to get a pic with him before we continued on saling.

He even came with his machine gun and a little gun too.

 My Hello Kitty phone case arrived. It's larger than my Rilakkuma and quite chunky (But the cuteness makes up for it! Plus it still fits in most of my purse pockets.)

 I found this adorable little plush at Value Village for $1.99

I also found a cool Japanese robe (But it's in the wash so I will show it soon.)

 Purchased at a liquidation store for $3.99 I just couldn't resist these Pj shorts by American Eagle.

 I found this resin coral pendant on sale at Michael's craft store for $2.99 (Reg. $7) *SHEESH* I would have never paid that!!!

I think $2.99 is a great deal. I am going to add it to a string of shells I have,  rather than on a chain. At least for the rest of summer. There is some good clearance sales going on at Michael's if you have one near you. I am waiting to get paid so I can go back and pick up a few other items I seen on a great discount price but didn't have the cash for. *Crosses fingers some will still be there*

 Here is me last night on my bike ride. It's getting dark earlier we usually ride in the light... but dusk hit faster than we were expecting. *EEEP* days are getting shorter!

In my previous post I talked about how I had gained unwanted pounds and was trying to get into a routine that incorporated exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week. Well I have been doing VERY good with that. I almost feel as if something is missing if I don't get in some physical activity. So far I have lost 5 pounds. *WOOHOO WOOHOO*

It's very easy to give up on trying to lose weight when you don't see any results at all. BUT sometimes when your not losing pounds you are losing inches and today when I measured myself I saw I have lost a half inch in most places since I last took my measurements on July 6th.

"If you are planning on losing weight, make sure you weigh yourself, take your current measurements & take a before photo. That way when you are not seeing results on your scale you will have other ways of knowing what's going on with your body."

You didn't think I ride without a helmet did you???

 I imagined a update would be a good thing. That's usually what one does when they blog right?

I was hitting the 2 week mark without a post and my purchases are starting to add up here.

Last Saturday I went yard saling. I didn't find too much but the stuff I found I was happy about. I find I am a little pickier this year than previous years which I assume to be a good thing.

One of my first buys was this 1950s hair clipper. The box caught my eye... as I lifted the lid a very nice older gentlemen said "That's a collectible, you don't come across them nowadays" He was smoking a big Cigar and  HECK was it strong. *lol* I said: "Well it's really cool, I love old things"

He said: "How about $1" And I replied: "Sold"

He showed me how there was instructions in the lid,  and that it came with a extra spring.

I asked Mr. if I could cut his hair with it and he said "Sure" ("What a trusting man I have")

 The purchase below is a Vaporizer I bought a month or so back from a local  I paid $7.99 which is more than it's original price.

The box again is what caught my eye, I am surprised it is in such good condition.

 I really did not want to leave this behind at the store. After all it's "Commended by the consumer service bureau of parents magazine" That really does mean it's the best in case you didn't know.

 I am happy with just the box... but lets look at the actual Vaporizer!

 I was shocked upon opening the box and seeing the Excellent condition of the graphics on the glass jar. "OoOohhh I can't wait to have this on my starbust Formica kitchen table in my "Future" Vintage decorated home. ("Yes people I do have alot of plans and dreams for my future") *hahhaah* But at least I have the table and now the vaporizer.

 Black Roller Skates Thrift store $7.99 ("They do have brakes they are just inside the skates .... I need to find some screws") I purchased a previous pair last year... they were just plastic though and quite big so I re-sold them.... and waited for another pair to come along! These are leather they roll perfectly and I plan to use them every now and then this year. "ONCE THE BRAKES ARE ON"

When my Dad seen this he said: "Don't you think your kids will want a (NEW TRAIN) from nowadays rather than one from 1964?"  I said: "No Dad I will have vintage kids.... that like vintage toys"

In reality of course when I have kids I will buy them new toys too. But there is something so charming about these ones from decades ago.

Garage sale 0.10 cents each

Today I got my Garage sale list for this weekend started,  it looks like it might be a good day for saling. I am going to try and take pics of what I find while I am out.... so I don't find them places when they get home and then they end up forgotten about.

I went on my first bike ride of the year this week. I took out "Cotton Candy Carnival" (That's the name of my bike) Here is a pic of her and I under the Magnolia tree.   

Easter weekend out of town day trip!

Happy Easter everyone!!! My Easter weekend has been quite lovely.
We had our turkey dinner quite early (Thursday to be exact) It was the best time for every member in our family so it was over and done even before the weekend started.

For the past month or so I had been searching here and there for a beach cruiser. I have wanted one for quite some time and just couldn't forget about it. The prices on these bikes can go quite high!!! And oddly enough in the United States you can get them for some very good prices at Walmart or Target. You even get selection with over 10 styles and brands to choose from.. but NOT HERE IN CANADA!! To this date the Canadian Walmarts still do not have even one beach cruiser in their stores yet?!?!
Whats up with that?? I am sure Canadian people are just the same as American people I mean we all ride bikes RIGHT?? *haha* "Just last week I saw my neighbor with a cruiser parked next to his igloo" *wink*
So after getting a tad impatient and not wanting to pay the big bucks the bike shops wanted.. I decided to turn to the classifieds.

So a week and a couple days ago I had come across a ad for a gorgeous lilac colored cruiser. I sent a message to the seller saying I was interested in the bike and wanted to buy it. After 2 days or so with no reply I thought "Hmm someone might have beat me to it, and the owner forgot to take down the add." I still had a glimpse of hope (CHECKING DAILY) and still seeing the ad still up. But after about the 5th day with no contact I just sort of gave up.. Well exactly one week later we got a reply. The owner apologized and had been away on a vacation!! Guess who was first in-line for the cruiser?? "ME me ME!" So we established plans to meet on Saturday. (The bike was not even in my town) I got so crazy with my search I sort of widened my areas to scour for a cruiser. We made a day trip out of it. Did a little shopping and grabbed a quick burger. Then it was time to go see the bike. I knew I was going to get it as long as it didn't have some huge dents in it or big scrapes from a crash or something. When we met with the owner and she wheeled the bike outside I INSTANTLY loved it!
It reminds me of Cotton Candy, Unicorns, Bubblegum, Flowers & Happiness.

Once a test ride was taken and the money was paid we put my newest edition in the back of the pick-up and set off for our trip back home after a quick visit with the In-laws who reside in the same town as CottoncandyUnicornsBubblegumFlowersHappiness cruiser came from.
I have yet to name this bike *Rolls eyes* "I know I was in the same predicament in my blog post last week with the blue vintage cruiser I purchased for $8.00 but a name has since been decided upon and the blue bicycle is called ~*Hyacinth Orchid*~

The drive home was lovely because the highway goes through mostly farmland, and I saw SO MANY cute baby cows on the trip. (I love cows!!)

I rode the cruiser for the first time today to a coffee shop. I got a large coffee made my way over to a bench and had a few moments of relaxation before the ride home.
