My last post of 2012 Happy New Year!

Well here we are at the end of 2012,  I wanted to do one more post and this is it.
I am showing you my last finds of this year. The picture above is a stack of old patterns I got 31 from the mid 60s - mid 70s.
One thing I hope to learn better in 2013 is to sew. I said the same thing last year but I didn't do much practicing. (Shame on me) I told my Grandma she needs to help me. But now she is second guessing her skills. *hahah* She used to make dresses for herself back in the 50s, 60s & 70s but hasn't done much since. She pretty much only does repairs and simple sewing nowadays.
 My first Elvis tee
Lady in green dress barrel mug
 Deer vase / Planter
 Perfume bottle 1
Perfume bottle 2
Johnson brothers
Gravy boat, serving bowl & serving platter
$4 for the three pieces (Can you believe that?!)
Small pyrex  (I think I have the other two bigger ones in this pattern. Of course they are packed.... so I woun't  know for awhile.) *lol*
Dior shoes.... (These confuse me) I really don't think they are real Dior .... or maybe they are... I don't have the slightest clue. If they are they are from the 70s. Never been worn the bottoms are pristine. They seem a little fragile. Where the thrift store had put the sticker on the shoe (When I went to take it off some of the black material came off on the sticker. (DARN STORES)
Little squirrel figurines I found yesterday
YES I named them!
Slightly demented but sort of cute too. I think these cushion covers are quite old. The backgrounds are velvet. And whoever made them probably invested a few good hours into each.
 "Stop looking at me SWAN!"
 Vintage children's styling doll.
 Strawberry Shortcake doll
Yesterday my Hello kitty toys told me they wanted to go for a drive but only one could fit in the "kitty car" So they had to borrow my Husbands vehicle.
But his Masterchief got upset and threatened kitty to get out of his seat.
Thank you to all my followers for following my blog. I enjoy your comments, messages and friendships!
For 2012 I only did 63 posts
2011 I did 87
I was determined I would beat my 87 from 2011 in 2012 (But I did not) I sort of slacked a good couple of months.
Okay so I am going to give it another shot. *Cross fingers*
I hope 2013 is a great year for everyone.
I am sure there will be lots more vintage finds.
A LOT more garage saling (You know once all this darn snow melts and we enter spring season) *hah*
Maybe 2013 will include more Hello Kitty too!
I wrote this by candle light. Everyone was watching the Expendables 2, so I found myself a corner in the kitchen. It's actually sort of peaceful & relaxing,  I may have to do it again. The candles burning are Pine & Happy Holiday. Soon they will packed up and stored back with the Christmas items.
And I will have to bring out the "New Year scents" Whatever they may be.
Happy New Year to you all!

Yesterday I turned 31

I was SO happy when I seen the cake Mr. Coco ordered for me. It was a Dairy Queen Oreo cookie blizzard ice cream cake. Decorated with four Hello Kitty rings (Since there was no kids at my Birthday I get all of them and don't have to share.) The big kitty with the bear is a bottle for bubbles!! Complete with a wand that come out of HK's head.

The Mr. usually asks me what I want for my Birthday. This is what I chose.....

A Vintage Faux Fur Leopard print coat. I chose this because I have been looking for one for about 2 years and whenever I do come across them in a thrift store they are usually not my size. They are either too big,  too small,  too long,  or too short.

This one is just perfect & now my search is over. (But watch now that I have one I will find one that fits me perfectly sometime soon.) That always happens!

My Brother got me this vintage compact mirror from a Antique store in a little town.
(I adore the dainty little rosebuds)

Sorry for the leopard overload *hahah*
My Dog bought this for me. Well at least that's what the box said.

Here is something I bought for myself. Doesn't everyone buy something for themselves for their birthday? I know I always use it as an excuse!

I went out for a Chinese Buffet yesterday to celebrate. This picture was above our table. I wish I could have took it off the wall and brought it home. I also got cold hard cash for my B day which makes me Happy because,  if all goes as planned on Saturday I am going to go on a little road trip to a town a couple hours away. The town has a REALLY cool antique store and a antique furniture store (The place I bought my Vanity table from last year.) Also there is a good amount of thrift shops and who doesn't like thrifting in a different town?
I have already been day dreaming about the stuff I could come across. *haha*

*Cake Love*

P.s. Thank you Facebook bloggie friends for the Birthday wishes.

Celebrating with cajun taco salad in a yellow sundress and helmet

(Me . Mr. Coco . My cute little cousin "Barely visible" and my 6'5" cousin whom I disguised in a fake mustache and sunglasses. *lol*)

The past week and a half has been a busy one. I have had my Grandma, Aunt & Uncle and two cousins down for 8 days. (They live in another province of Canada and I usually only get to see them every couple of years.) They arrived on Monday the 23 of July and just left on Tuesday afternoon.
I had no time to blog while they were down really. We did lots of shopping celebrated my Aunt and Uncles 27th wedding Anniversary and we even ALL went Garage saling on Saturday. We had a 3 car line that also included my parents. *hahah* When we all pulled up the people had a real busy garage sales..... when we were done we all walked back down the driveway at the same time. *HAH* it looked quite funny.

This is what I wore to my Uncle and Aunties Anniversary dinner. It's a bright yellow 80's sundress. It has black buttons that go all the way down the one side.
I am going to count this as a Frock on Friday dress as I am totally behind on my frocking up!!!

I made the the orange flower clip that's in my hair. I love it!! It sort of has a pom pom look to it.

This was my dinner a Cajun chicken taco salad. (One of the lowest calorie items on the menu.)
Thank God it's one of my favorites!!!

I was so proud of my Arnold Schwarzenegger Commando action figure that I purchased for $3 at a garage sale. I JUST had to get a pic with him before we continued on saling.
He even came with his machine gun and a little gun too.

My Hello Kitty phone case arrived. It's larger than my Rilakkuma and quite chunky (But the cuteness makes up for it! Plus it still fits in most of my purse pockets.)

I found this adorable little plush at Value Village for $1.99
I also found a cool Japanese robe (But it's in the wash so I will show it soon.)

Purchased at a liquidation store for $3.99 I just couldn't resist these Pj shorts by American Eagle.

I found this resin coral pendant on sale at Michael's craft store for $2.99 (Reg. $7) *SHEESH* I would have never paid that!!!
I think $2.99 is a great deal. I am going to add it to a string of shells I have,  rather than on a chain. At least for the rest of summer. There is some good clearance sales going on at Michael's if you have one near you. I am waiting to get paid so I can go back and pick up a few other items I seen on a great discount price but didn't have the cash for. *Crosses fingers some will still be there*

Here is me last night on my bike ride. It's getting dark earlier we usually ride in the light... but dusk hit faster than we were expecting. *EEEP* days are getting shorter!
In my previous post I talked about how I had gained unwanted pounds and was trying to get into a routine that incorporated exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week. Well I have been doing VERY good with that. I almost feel as if something is missing if I don't get in some physical activity. So far I have lost 5 pounds. *WOOHOO WOOHOO*
It's very easy to give up on trying to lose weight when you don't see any results at all. BUT sometimes when your not losing pounds you are losing inches and today when I measured myself I saw I have lost a half inch in most places since I last took my measurements on July 6th.

"If you are planning on losing weight, make sure you weigh yourself, take your current measurements & take a before photo. That way when you are not seeing results on your scale you will have other ways of knowing what's going on with your body."

You didn't think I ride without a helmet did you???

This is my Helmet I ordered from Japan a month and a half back. I LOVE it even if I do look like a big kid. *HAHAHAHA*
Every time I pass another cyclist they have to see Hello Kitty staring back at them.
=D
I wonder what they think....
*Hah*

I have more vintage purchases to show you very soon. I just need to take the pictures.
Now that company's gone the house is EERILY SILENT!! It's taking me a little bit to adapt back to normalcy.

It WASN'T a month, I still had a few hours left!

Hello Hello! I suppose it's been a short while since I last posted. But I made sure to get my butt here typing before I reached a month.
(The lucky cat piggy bank and kokeshi doll in the red dress were purchased from the flea market 2 weeks ago for $5. The kokeshi in the floral kimono was purchased from a thrift store last week for $1.50)
I suppose my little absence will be blamed on some part time work that is newly acquired plus the fact I am trying to incorporate daily exercise in my everyday life. In recent months I fabulously (not) gained extra pounds that are not wanted!!! And I am trying to rid them off my body! Trying to get into a workout routine is never the easiest,  but I am doing better with it now than I was weeks ago.
Also Weekends prior to this last one were HORRID for sales!! I had two Sats in a row where it just poured rain. Sales were cancelled or just not there at all!!!

"OOGA BOOGA MOOGA" I found these three tiki dudes at the flea market on Sunday. The seller had the bottoms marked $2 a piece but told me she would take $5 for them "without me even asking?" So I said "How bout $4?" She told me she would do it but then showed me a Tiki bottle cap remover ... So I said alright throw that in and I will pay you $5. She agreed and I was thrilled (Also saved myself $3) *heh*

Two Christmases ago my Mr. wanted to buy me a IPhone (I politely declined) and chose a WAY cheaper pink flip phone. I am not a big cell phone person
(I use them when I need to make a call or a short to the point text) ... but I do not like to be on them constantly. And get annoyed by people who are.)

Example:
Walking down the sidewalk not looking where they are going because they are <> Staring at a phone.
Eating dinner with someone but not talking to them because they are  <> Staring at a phone.
Almost getting hit in a parking lot because they are not paying attention cause they are <> Staring at a phone.

This is seriously one of my pet peeves. I swear half the world is missing out on (actual life) .... because their face is plastered to their phone screen.
I just want to make sure I am never one of those people who would not know what to do with themselves if they didn't have their phone.

(If you are one of those people ... Since I don't know you IRL)
Don't take offesnse to my rant! *lol*
The time came where my previous cell just wasn't cutting it for what I want.
I wanted to be able to look up things I come across in thrifts and at garage sales to find out more info on them. I get Mr. to do it from his phone when he's with me but the times he's not I am wishing he was. *lol*
So finally I gave in to the hullabaloo!! But first before even getting my phone I looked through countless phone cases *hehe*
I ordered 2 before I even went and got the darn phone.
Here is my first case

Rilakkuma a Japanese character! My second case which has yet to arrive is Hello Kitty, I am getting antsy waiting but I am sure it will show up soon. I was very ho-hum about getting a IPhone but  now that I have had it for a couple weeks,  I have taken a liking to it. It really makes looking up stuff when I am out super easy. Also there is tons of things to do on it if boredom ensues. I am just making sure to "limit the amount I am on it whilst out in public, I don't want to turn into a IPhone addict."

I was planning on writing this post on Sunday but then didn't get around to it. I was reading blog posts though and one of them gave me Deja vu!
Lucy Nation
She also just got a IPhone very recently AND  ....... *cues eeeerie music* Loves Hello Kitty!!!!
Go check out her awesome blog if your looking for more Happiness to read.
(IPhone pic)
I ordered nail stuff from E-bay
And did my nails Keroppi & Hello kitty!
(IPhone pic)
This was my FAVORITE find garage saling on Saturday!! $3 for a Hello Kitty Build-a-bear.
She was naked when found and missing her bow "So I lent her a flower" But no worries I plan on ordering her some clothes soon!

(STORY TIME)

The people holding the garage sale where I got Hello Kitty from were a Senior citizen couple.
The man had to be in his late 70s early 80s and I would imagine the woman to be in her early 70s.
I have been to sales by them in previous years and I usually always find something.
Mr. Coco and I start walking up the driveway. The man hosting the sale is just staring at me with this weird gaze and a big smile. (I was sort of worried I had cream cheese from my bagel on my face or something.) He then gets up right next to me and says loudly "GRAB YOUR PURSE AND BAG, FORGET ABOUT THIS GUY!! *looking over at Mr. Coco*" Apparently he thought him and I should run off together. *bahaha* I was slightly caught off guard and couldn't stop laughing!
(His wife then tells him his toast & jam is on the table and that he should go eat breakfast, so he goes inside the house)
*Minutes later*
A middle aged "hippie" looking man comes up the driveway and asks if she has any watches to sell.
She tells him no politely and then he explains he likes to buy old watches and fix them up. He then asks her is she has any old toys and rambles off a list of the types he looks for. The woman's reply was "Sorry: I'm the only old toy we got around here" (Said in a flirty manner as her Husband eats his toast while peering through his kitchen window.)
*hahaha*

This evening I am going to relax with my feet in Jersey's doggie pool. (FINALLY getting hot weather here.) I cleaned it and filled it yesterday so it will be warm enough to give him a bath this evening.
(It's so much easier bathing a dog outside.)
He doesn't really like baths so I have been spoiling him a little here and a little there .
For some reason he's CRAZY about watermelon. He snaps at it like a little shark!!
So I gave him more than I normally would but then realized.... if he had any more... I might regret that decision when it comes time to clean up the chocolates he leaves in the backyard.

See the collar I made him!!
Oddly enough I think he likes wearing a rind around his neck!
