Missing treasure & Helga has a groovy dancing twin

Well Genie Coconut says: I have still not taken photos of my Garage sale finds. I am going to have to start doing this the same day I buy them.. because now I am trying to remember what I bought this Saturday. One thing I know is it isn't much. The past few weekends have been horrible for finding vintage.

But I did find the Turban hat above along with another one will I will show you properly in my next post. (You know.. when the barn is painted!)

(Not vintage) This is a old navy sundress I got for under $1

Pardon the wrinkles - Apparently watching a movie in it creates a wrinkle effect. Will be perfect for next summer in the hot heat.

Hawaiian dress I got for under $1 This should also see some use next summer!

This evening I went for my first bike ride of Fall. I love to ride my bikes, I find it very relaxing. The bike I am riding is named Casper and it was purchased on October 1 for a Twenty at Salvation Army.

In a few days Casper and I will be celebrating our 1 year Anniversary.
*lol*

I rode past the river

And this weeping willow

Stopped at this tall grass to take a picture

Rode past this group of Canadian Geese

And stopped on a little bridge to enjoy this sweet sunset

Bye bye ducks

Yesterday I picked up 3 records. And I really loved the photos on one of them that is from 1967. Check out (HELGA) getting her groove on!

"Helga if this is not you.. then you have a twin Sister"

I about dropped the Vinyl once I spotted the resemblance.

EEEEEEEKKK!

I wonder who she is?!

Funky patterned dresses

(My Boxer on one of our walks)

It's been about a month since my last post. (Gosh time flies) In the past month the weather got alot nicer and I started going on daily walks and bike rides sometimes just one or the other.

I have still been going thrifting but probably a little less than before. This weekend will be my first garage saling weekend and I am *SO EXCITED* I cannot wait. I may not even be able to sleep on Friday night. *lol*

I took some pictures of dresses I have found in the past few weeks. Here were I live vintage is quite hard to come by whether it is 50's, 60's or 70's. So when I find it I usually purchase it then decide whether I will keep it for myself or sell it.

Black, Blue & Green

I love the tag on this one it's so darn cute!

Black, Pink & Green

I adore this dress!! This one I am for sure keeping. I have tried it on and will need to lose a couple of pounds before it fits perfectly (but hey inspiration is good!!) I have to think of it that way.. because if I don't I would give my mannequin a punch to the jaw because she fits every damn thing perfectly.

White, Orange & Black

Now this little number reminds me of Halloween candy! When I first came across it I pictured Helga http://helgavontrollop.blogspot.com then candy. Helga & Candy what a lovely combo. It's strange how things can remind you of people from blogland!

Patchwork Ruffle Bottom

I want this to be my garage saling dress. I told my Husband I will wear it so if he loses me he will not have to search everywhere. I will just stick out like a sore thumb. If I add a bit floppy straw hat that might even be better. Hell who knows maybe I would get better deals on things because people would think I was a crazy mad woman.

Sears Paisley Purple, Black & Blue

I like the detail on this one, but I am not big on the long sleeves. This is not my style at all, but someone out there in this world would probably think it was delightful.

So those are my latest dress finds. I will now end this little post... and search for a movie on Netflix.

Dress Hoarder

Hello Bloggie people! Today I decided I needed to go to on of the second hand store's I usually frequent on Saturday's. I found 3 dresses all which I liked. Since I was in a HUGE rush because the store was closing in just 30 min when I walked through the door, I just threw the dresses in my basket not trying anything on.
When I got home I decided I better see how they fit. Well I got 1 out of 3 that's better than nothing really!! *hehaha*

(Dress #1) I loved.. it's a little bright and loud but in some ways that describes me also. This dress was so close to fitting except 1 button will not do up. ONE BUTTON... uhgg This dress looks as though it's only been worn a few times is in such awsome condition I love love love it!
It came with a matching scarf which has a funky striped design just like the dress and then some flowers.

(Dress #2) There is just something about Hawaiian dresses I cannot get enough of. I found this one VERY intriguing. I have 2 vintage Hawaiian dresses and they are both sort of the same style.. this one was quite different I noticed because it has a sort of Mermaid tail thing going on which I found to be simply GREAT. Well I was quite miffed when I realized my BUTT is to fat for the dress! *lol* so since I can get it on my legs but not past my bottom I don't think it will be appropriate to wear.. in fact it could just get me arrested!

(Dress #3) WAHOO!! It fits and looks very cute on I think! All the buttons do up and it fits over my lady lumps!! woohoo! (Yes I was super excited) I will have to show you this dress on in a post sometime. It has a matching belt & a cute little tie around the neck.
Best of all it will not wrinkle and the colors will go with so many accessories.

The reason I went to the store a day early was because I am going on a day trip out of town tomorrow. I plan on stopping at a few Salvation army thrifts and a really sweet vintage shop I found online. HOPEFULLY I will find something lovely for myself at the vintage store.. MAYBE another dress?!

I did my nails for the occasion!
Wish me luck & Have a great weekend!
