A magical dress and weekend purchases

This Welcome sign was the only thing I found garage saling on Saturday.
The dress I am wearing is new I got it on sale at Winners last week. I don't purchase clothes new very often, but when I seen this dress I just couldn't resist.
It was just something about the ruffles and tiers that called my name.
I pretended I was a fairy and ran in circles and jumped up and down in my backyard.
I explored a forest of mushrooms and pranced barefoot in clover fields while the sun touched my back.
This dress is magic!

To add to the magic I was also wearing one of Desiree's Sassy Vamps headbands

Since I only found one thing in peoples driveways. I decided to visit some thrifts.
I found this juice jug made in Italy
 These Geta sandals
This Brass turtle dish (Who now lives on the back of my toilet)
 Brass Egyptian letter opener
 Schiaparelli Scottie tie (Cuteness)
Angel baby figurine (My Mother's purchase) Lamb with rhinestone eyes (My purchase)
From two different stores ... but they seem to fit together sort of...
First bloom this summer on my mini rose. It got all bug eaten in the beginning of summer and now finally has grown fresh leaves and one rose. I bring my rose inside in the fall and put it outside the spring. This is it's 3rd year alive.

Caught in my pool! Frock on Friday

Ohhhh it looks like a big one!!
Caught right out of my swimming pool!
 *Taking a closer look*
Dress was found a couple weeks back and was part of a fill a bag for $5.00 I imagine with all the other stuff I bought I paid around $0.75 cents for it. The shoes came from a different fill a bag for $3.00 They probably cost me $1 because I didn't find that much that day.
I am wearing a string of pearls in my hair.
You most likely already seen my handmade shell necklace. But see the red small one?? I got it at a garage sale for $2.00 I don't know if it's real coral or fake coral... but I really like it either way.
The bottom is my favorite. I am rather tempted to buy a set of wings and run around town!!!
Jersey is jealous of my CATCH O' THE DAY!
He better be careful or I will scoop him up in the net too!

MY MOST AMAZING FIND
Below
Holy Heck LOBSTER LOLLIPOPS! I about fell right over in the store when I seen these!

 The sexy lollipop modeling pose!

Bringing the ocean with me

I would have never created this necklace had I not come across this discount pendent at the craft store.
Since I am a lover of the ocean I knew I couldn't pass up this resin coral branch.
Not for $2.99
I was going to buy a chain for it while still in the necklace section at the shop but then I remembered the 2 strings of souvenir shell necklaces I had at home that I purchased months back from a thrift shop for $0.50 cents a piece. *OooOohhh* I thought that might look neat.
The shells I had looked a little like these ones above. They had no hardware just fishing line tied into knots and melted at the ends. They were also quite a bit longer than I wanted. So I cut them at the ties and removed some length of shells. I put the removed shells in a mini zip lock so I can use them in the future for crafting.
I then added a silver tone screw together clasp at the back. Once I finished I realized I could still just put the necklace over my head.  *whooops* *hahah
Here is my little mannequin girl in her vintage swimsuit modeling my creation.
In total I spent $4 on my diy creation.
(Minus-ing the silver hardware closure as it isn't needed)

I did purchase this starfish pendent to go with the necklace..... But I like the coral branch all on it's own.
This pendant was also on clearance for $2.99 I might just end up wearing this one on a silver chain.

Here is me wearing my necklace for the first time on Saturday. I look a little miserable. I sort of was (It was rather hot & humid) I did not find even 1 item from any of the house garage sales I went to. Nothing interested me and the pickings were rather..... poor. But I did end up finding a couple treasures at the thrift shops I visited after.
(And thankfully those shops were all air conditioned.)

P.s. After making this necklace I wanted more souvenir stringed necklaces,  I went back to the thrift store I bought them from all those months back. (This is the one I that I blogged about in the past, you know the one who got taken over by new management and jacked up all the prices.) They had 2 more strings there... I seen the hanging price tags 2.50 each!!!
"#$!*"
Guess I will have to find more elsewhere.

Sometimes I feel sorry for stuffed animals sent to live in thrift shops

This ballerina bunny seemed sad sitting on the shelf of a church thrift store. I didn't have the heart to leave it there. I find it odd I feel sorry for a non living object....
But there isn't much I can do about it.

This box was sitting on a table at a garage sale. The top has written in pen "For Books" Naturally I thought books were inside and I passed by it. This happened two Saturdays back when my Grandma was still here visiting. Her and my Mom opened the box and said "Melanie Look" Inside was a small pile of vintage baby clothes. If you have been with my blog for awhile you will know that I have been buying up vintage baby items for my "Future baby coconuts" Who we will start trying for some time in the Fall.
(Eeeep it's really creeping up quickly isn't it???)

P.S. When out thrifting and saling make sure to always look in things
(Even if you think you know whats inside, you might just get a nice surprise.)
This also applies to BAD surprises
If you want to know more click the above link.

This one has a few small age spots on it.
 *Gah* This ones so sweet
Look at the inside tag (Baby Lingerie??) *hehe*
This is just Gorgeous. It is so delicate and dainty. Above the dress is a little hat, I would have loved to have more info on this fancy little dress.
This little pastel dress trimmed with green ribbon comes with the cutest little bloomers!
This dress was not in the box. I purchased it this weekend at Salvation Army for $1.
It makes me think of lemon cake iced with lace. Underneath is a little silky yellow slip.
This was the most worn piece in the box. I think it's seen better days. But when I do have a little coconut. I want a few of little rompers in this style. They would be perfect for those hot summer days.

Finds for me!!!

Buxton jewelry box $3 (My jewelry box collection might be getting a little out of hand but I just can't help it. Especially at that price.)
It has hooks for necklaces and two drawers. It was a little dirty sitting on the store shelf, but every mark came off with a damp cloth.
High heel shoe cell phone holder. Too small for my new phone but I am sure I will find something for it to hold on my vanity table. $1
Found this at the flea market. $2 I am crazy about the black designed bottle.
Found this one at the same time as the black one above but from a different seller. I paid her asking price which was $4.
Found at the garage sale that had the baby clothes, this perfume was in a box of old perfumes & lotions. I paid $1. And some woman who came after it was already in my hand was glaring my down like a venomous cobra!

This also will have a place on my vanity (Hazel)

Here is something that will NOT have a place on my vanity
*LOL*

I don't know what it is about Mr. Brand but he just makes me laugh. I love watching him in interviews I swear he is in my top funny people inside my brain. Book was 50 cents at a garage sale.

Celebrating with cajun taco salad in a yellow sundress and helmet

(Me . Mr. Coco . My cute little cousin "Barely visible" and my 6'5" cousin whom I disguised in a fake mustache and sunglasses. *lol*)

The past week and a half has been a busy one. I have had my Grandma, Aunt & Uncle and two cousins down for 8 days. (They live in another province of Canada and I usually only get to see them every couple of years.) They arrived on Monday the 23 of July and just left on Tuesday afternoon.
I had no time to blog while they were down really. We did lots of shopping celebrated my Aunt and Uncles 27th wedding Anniversary and we even ALL went Garage saling on Saturday. We had a 3 car line that also included my parents. *hahah* When we all pulled up the people had a real busy garage sales..... when we were done we all walked back down the driveway at the same time. *HAH* it looked quite funny.

This is what I wore to my Uncle and Aunties Anniversary dinner. It's a bright yellow 80's sundress. It has black buttons that go all the way down the one side.
I am going to count this as a Frock on Friday dress as I am totally behind on my frocking up!!!

I made the the orange flower clip that's in my hair. I love it!! It sort of has a pom pom look to it.

This was my dinner a Cajun chicken taco salad. (One of the lowest calorie items on the menu.)
Thank God it's one of my favorites!!!

I was so proud of my Arnold Schwarzenegger Commando action figure that I purchased for $3 at a garage sale. I JUST had to get a pic with him before we continued on saling.
He even came with his machine gun and a little gun too.

My Hello Kitty phone case arrived. It's larger than my Rilakkuma and quite chunky (But the cuteness makes up for it! Plus it still fits in most of my purse pockets.)

I found this adorable little plush at Value Village for $1.99
I also found a cool Japanese robe (But it's in the wash so I will show it soon.)

Purchased at a liquidation store for $3.99 I just couldn't resist these Pj shorts by American Eagle.

I found this resin coral pendant on sale at Michael's craft store for $2.99 (Reg. $7) *SHEESH* I would have never paid that!!!
I think $2.99 is a great deal. I am going to add it to a string of shells I have,  rather than on a chain. At least for the rest of summer. There is some good clearance sales going on at Michael's if you have one near you. I am waiting to get paid so I can go back and pick up a few other items I seen on a great discount price but didn't have the cash for. *Crosses fingers some will still be there*

Here is me last night on my bike ride. It's getting dark earlier we usually ride in the light... but dusk hit faster than we were expecting. *EEEP* days are getting shorter!
In my previous post I talked about how I had gained unwanted pounds and was trying to get into a routine that incorporated exercise AT LEAST 3 times a week. Well I have been doing VERY good with that. I almost feel as if something is missing if I don't get in some physical activity. So far I have lost 5 pounds. *WOOHOO WOOHOO*
It's very easy to give up on trying to lose weight when you don't see any results at all. BUT sometimes when your not losing pounds you are losing inches and today when I measured myself I saw I have lost a half inch in most places since I last took my measurements on July 6th.

"If you are planning on losing weight, make sure you weigh yourself, take your current measurements & take a before photo. That way when you are not seeing results on your scale you will have other ways of knowing what's going on with your body."

You didn't think I ride without a helmet did you???

This is my Helmet I ordered from Japan a month and a half back. I LOVE it even if I do look like a big kid. *HAHAHAHA*
Every time I pass another cyclist they have to see Hello Kitty staring back at them.
=D
I wonder what they think....
*Hah*

I have more vintage purchases to show you very soon. I just need to take the pictures.
Now that company's gone the house is EERILY SILENT!! It's taking me a little bit to adapt back to normalcy.
