Celebrating being a Honorary Canadian Mexicana!

Dora from VPJLM fulfilled my wishes on being a Honorary Mexican! I was so happy when I woke up and seen her blog post "Right Here" That I phoned Mr. Coconut at work on his lunch break and told him the news. I then told him we had to celebrate, he didn't put up much of a fight... and told me he would take me to the Mexican restaurant I have been badgering him about non stop for the past while. *woohoo*

Here I am sitting at the table, I like the cute little "window" behind me.
They also had like 4 sombreros there... I was so jealous!

Our waitress brought us out free tortilla chips and salsa *mmmm* (There was more.. but we were half way through munching them when I remembered to take a pic.) *lol*

I ordered what they call the Taco Loco!! It was SOOO good. The half with the cheese on top had ground beef under it. The other side had bean on it. Once I was ready to eat I mixed it all together added my favorite thing (SALSA) and ate till I could eat no longer. "I was not able to finish it... it was quite big."

Mr. ordered beef nachos. He is sort of picky with sauces and wanted to eat something he KNEW he would like.

He also ordered a beef enchilada with a bean sauce.

They had Spanish music playing and the inside was decorated real cute, bright & fun.

I was tempted to tell them of my Honorary citizenship... but I worried they might kick my a$$!! *LOL*

I also received a gift from the one and ONLY Nelly . And look what treasures she sent to me from Australia to Canada!!

A Lobster mitt, A wooden lobster a Australia t shirt & a exquisite sugar bowl. Now the Sugar bowl did have a partner. It came with a little jug for cream. But SADLY it arrived in lots of pieces. I was sad at first... but like I told Nelly. It will give me something to search for. I will Scour (E-bay) (Etsy) & (Thrift stores) until I find it's mate.

Look how gorgeous the design is! I didn't have a slightest clue this set even existed. I love it.
Thank you very much Nelly for the gifts.
I love them lots!
You know just what will put a smile on my face!

Celebrating my garage sale finds

Finally after weeks of wanting a Sombrero I found one I didn't deem to pricey.
Two weeks ago I saw one at a yard sale priced for $10 (It was brown) the week after I came across a black one for $15 *eeep* too high for my yard sale funds! (I only bring $25 dollars to spend each week) This past Sat I went to a yard sale where a man had not one but two Mexican Sombreros for $5 each. *woohoo* I bought the green, now I wish I had bought the red too. It was a bit dusty from storage soooo... I vacuumed it. How many people vacuum sombreros on a Saturday afternoon? *smile*

I picked up the maracas a couple sales later for $0.50 cents from a friendly old couple who had a black and white shih tzu doggie.

If your wondering about my purchases I will be happy to explain I like Mexican stuff. I love the food (*mmm*), I like the clothing and Mexican decor. I even like Mexican people like Dora fromVintage Passiones Just like Mine. Maybe she can make me a Honorary Mexican!

Mother's Day at the Chinese Buffet

A picture of my Mother and I and our GIGANTIC plates of Chinese food.

Every time we go I grab at least one oyster... but once I get it from it's shell and examine it. (No clue why I do that.) My feelings change. *lol* I think it's the 3rd time it's happened. So I think from now on I won't put the tongs near them.

My Inspiration for my outfit was a Flamingo eating a Kiwi!
Since it was Mother's day and I am not yet a Mother I decided to take Mr. Coco to the park.

I wore my Valentine Cowboy boots cause they matched my pink dress pretty much perfectly.

 "Yeee - Hawwwwww"

 "You naughty Dinosaur!"

 Be careful Loo!

 "THROWN FROM THE DINO"

On Saturday when I was out shopping I noticed Walmart had their "Big Balls" on sale for $2.50
I like to buy these for Jersey every once in awhile. He LOVES them but makes sure to KILL them within minutes. So they are a special treat.
Here he is sitting waiting patiently to get his ball.
Let the craziness begin....

It's a &#@!*# ALIEN POD!!

 "Go back to your PLANET!!"

 Success in Alien pod extermination
Well that was a bit of my weekend.
I will share my Saturday garage sale finds with you on Tues or Wed as I still need to take photos.
On Saturday I went and had my weekly Ramen. I was thrilled when I realized the green onion in the bowl matched my freshly painted nails!

Yes I am easily fascinated!

Happy Mother's day to all the Mommies!!
Whether your a  mommy of a human child or a dog mommy, a cat mommy, a bird mommy, a rabbit mommy, a snake mommy, a goldfish mommy, a hamster mommy or any sort of animal mommy.

I bought a potato at a garage sale

I am thrilled with it being Garage sale season again. So thrilled.. I created myself a "Garage Saling bag" I found a vintage Star Wars bed sheet months back that had some holes here and there. I wanted to make something out of it... and finally I did.

One side features Darth Vader

The other Chewbacca! I love both of them.

I paid .75 cents or Mrs. Potato head and most of her accessories a few things are missing,  but for a price like that I couldn't give a damn.

 A huge stack of postcards from the 1950s - 1970's $2.00
The seller told me they were her Mother's

This ones from 1951
I wish I could Harvest some Pineapples.... MMM I love PINEAPPLES!

But not as much as PICKLES....  Pickle Container .25 cents

Cabbage Salt and Pepper Shakers $1.50
I have the Cabbage dish to go with these.

Wingtip Doc Martens $2.00

Simon Randers Mobelfabrik 1960s teak Danish sculpture $1.50
(I call this one... My find of the day!)

 Vintage glasses case .25 cents

 Coro thermoset Necklace $1.00

 Austria Brooch $1.00

 Floral Rhinestone brooch $1.00
I get so excited when I come across old jewelry at Garage sales I sometimes forget to give them a good look-over That's what happened here with this brooch. I would have left it behind had I seen a stone was missing. Maybe I will be able to find a stone to replace it in the future.

I love this (I am saling Today) Striped tote bag. It's so cute and I am crazy about the rope handles.
$1.00

Jersey See's a Kitty on his walk. See his back leg? He started doing some serious dirt kicking while staring at this cat. It was so funny apparently he was a bull planning to CHARGE!

The cat must think Jersey is some sort of Circus freak! *lol*

And I will end with this photo I took yesterday evening of the Slough near our house. I love this spot...  Just last week I was walking through it with Jersey and now it's filling up with water and  lots of ducks.
