Royal Mail arrives in Canada

NO! Not from Queen Elizabeth... from Curtise my faux fur loving friend in the UK. http://sopastcaring.blogspot.com/

The package was waiting for my when I woke up Yesterday morning.

As soon as I seen it I did a quick little package dance and opened it up.

Inside was: Carousel Jug, a sweet little doll, birdy card, Canada tea towel (Now how did that make it all the way to the UK? lol), cute ocean theme postcard
and last but not least a adorable vintage dress.
*Yeeeeeaaii*

Dress top is white lacy fabric, separated by a pink ribbon waist, leading to a lot of cute-sy flowers.

Dolly: When she got here she was quite shy. I don't really know what she thought about Canada. But once I told her she could have a dog her shyness disappeared.

I named her Kinsey which means 'Royal victory'

Totally fitting isn't it?? *hehe* Her Boxers name is Muck and they played outside all day today in the melting snow.

This reminds me of when I was a kid. My parent's used to take us to the States and I would ride on the outdoor carousel in Seattle. Come to think of it I would ask to ride on every darn carousel I seen.

Picture on the postcard

Which will now have a place on my side bar.

And the tea towel that tried to immigrate from Canada to the UK but couldn't get a Visa. Better luck next time little towel.

Thank you so much Curtise for your sweet and thoughtful package. It came at a perfect time. I haven't been in a thrift shop since Friday and I SWEAR I am going batty. And then like a dream come true...without entering a shop some vintage goodies arrive at my doorstep. What could be better than that??

Not much!

Lastly I am sure you see that Vintage Coconut has a new Crustacean-ious look.

That is because on February 14th (VALENTINES DAY)

It is my 2 year Blogiversary. I really hadn't updated my blogs look since I started it up. So I thought a little change might freshen things up

(You know... like misty Ocean air.)

In 2010 I only did 28 posts.

In 2011 I did 87

I am hoping in 2012 I will be able to get to at least 100 posts.

All I can say is if you suffer from Ostraconophobia... you might want to steer clear of this blog.

Something in the mail

Hello! It's almost the weekend so I hope you all are excited. (I AM!)
Yesterday I got a package in the mail.

Tara from http://bettysvintagemusings.blogspot.com/ had a giveaway for reaching 250 followers I entered along with alot of others and won. *WEEEE*

See this cute little tin she decorated?! I love it!
And as soon as I saw the envelope I smiled because of the little starburst she drew. (I am the same way... If I am not drawing pics on shipping envelopes I am decorating them with stickers.)

~The Winnings~

I was quite suprised when I spotted the pink pendant. It is soooo sparkley and Tara made them herself out of resin. I remember her post on them months back. Also I have never owned any MAC makeup (I usually just purchase my stuff from a drug store or Walmart or something.) I always have heard reveiws on these lipsticks but... never knew a thing about them. (Still don't) But what I do know is I put it on today and WOW it lasts a good long while. (Didn't kiss off) I tried it on Mr. Coconuts cheek! "He even had to double check in the vehicle mirror" It smells good (I found that weird.. My lipsticks dont normally smell pretty.)

I wanted to say thank you to Tara & the sugar container she drew my name out of. *lol*

See you Tomorrow for Frock on Friday. I am looking forward to all you glamerous babes strutting your stuff!

Cleaning my nose pores ...

Now isn't that an unusual title? Well it's the truth! *lol* I really like using a pore strip from time to time. And I realized last week it had been a very long while since my last nose stripping adventure. So I picked up a new box and here I am to chat to you as it dries.

So my Birthday was good. Early in the week my Grandma called and asked if I would be able to come to her house for a B-day dinner. So Mr. and I and my parents all had dinner there. My Brother was supposed to come too but he got the Flu the night before. *EEEK*

Grandma always has great dinners and if you turned them down well then you would be crazy. After dinner she brought out a cake. It was called a tuxedo cake and it was simply delicious!

*With the age defining candles*

*Without age defining candles*

To tell you the truth I had two cakes *lol* Because my guy bought me a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. (A favorite of mine) Look it had green on it!

Thank God it's sweater season right away... as I will need to work this cake off on my elliptical. (It has been being used as a hat holder lately.)

(I am very glad I have told you about how we both call each other Loo because had I not... I bet you would just think I stole this cake off google! *hahahehe*)

I will show you the gift I got from my Grandma & Grandpa. (Step Grandpa but he's so cool I don't really see him that way.) I just wanted to let you know so you would not get confused when you read this.) Here is the card below. *Ahhh that kitty is just too cute* Notice the background? That is one of my pillows. "If you have never had a crab pillow you do not know what you are missing."

Grandma got me the card above, a cute little notebook (not pictured) And the gorgeous unique necklace below.

The necklace was in a velvet bag along with a note from her. My Dad's Dad my Grandpa (Who died when I was 4) bought this necklace for my Grandma on their honeymoon in 1955. Grandma was with him and picked it out in the shop.

The heart is Ivory and it has two gold nuggets. The one in the middle of the heart and the one in between the chain and heart. I know she gave me the necklace because she knows I will cherish it since I am crazy about vintage items and really love stuff with history.

Whenever she comes over to visit I am always showing her my newest 60's handbag or 50's heels. Alot of times she tells me "I had something just like that!" Some day I will have to show you pics of her back in the day. I am surprised she didn't have flocks of men following her home. Actually if she did they would probably flee in seconds once she chased them away with a baseball bat.

I did get some other cute stuff that I really like. But you all know what I have been wanting and waiting to get. The time is getting closer *SMILE* I am getting close to finding my perfect vanity table (Dressing table to some) I just can barely contain myself.

That is going to be my gift from my man and my parents also gave me some moola to go towards it.

*Well this is feeling dry now.. Maybe even a little itchy.

It's time to remove my nose cast! *lol* Thank you for keeping me company.

P.s. Thank you all for the Birthday wishes!! ("You are all so awsome and fun I am glad I have found you through cyber space land.")

(And the comments about having babies)
*Some might have helped a little*

*hahaaa*
